  • 1 head white cabbage
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the corned beef brisket under cold water to remove any surface brine, then place it into a large pot.

Add the water, celery stalks (halved), large onion (quartered), bay leaves, black peppercorns, and peeled garlic cloves to the pot.

Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover the pot and let it cook for about 2.5 to 3 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.
