Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slice
  • 4 large leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium, sliced Tomato
  • 0.25 small, thinly sliced Red onion
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow mustard
  • 8 slices Pickle slices

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2-inch thick, creating a slight depression in the center to prevent puffing up during cooking.

Step 3

Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the burger patties in the skillet.

Step 4

Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they have reached your desired doneness (160°F for well-done).

Step 5

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Step 6

Remove the patties from the pan and let them rest for a couple of minutes.

Step 7

While the burgers are resting, prepare the buns using lettuce leaves. Place two lettuce leaves overlapping each other for each 'bun'.

Step 8

To assemble the burgers, spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on the base lettuce leaf. Add a patty on top, followed by slices of tomato, red onion, and pickles.

Step 9

Drizzle or spread some mustard over the toppings. Top with another lettuce leaf to enclose the burger.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy your keto-friendly classic cheeseburger!
