  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 large romaine lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices sliced tomato
  • 8 slices sliced pickles
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well blended.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Step 3

Preheat a grill or stove-top skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Place the burger patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach the desired doneness.

Step 5

Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each burger patty during the last minute of cooking and allow it to melt.

Step 6

Remove the burger patties from the heat and let them rest for a minute.

Step 7

To assemble the burgers, take large romaine lettuce leaves and layer with tomato slices, burger patty, and sliced pickles.

Step 8

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each burger and add a 1/2 tablespoon of mustard, if desired.
