Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almond flour
  • 0.25 cup Coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan gum
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 0.25 cup Coconut oil
  • 0.25 cup Warm water
  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce (or coconut aminos for soy-free)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Minced ginger
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon Sausage seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, salt, and xanthan gum. Mix thoroughly.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add in melted coconut oil and warm water. Whisk until well combined.

Step 3

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

Step 4

For the filling, in another bowl mix the ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, minced garlic, chopped green onions, sausage seasoning, and black pepper until well combined.

Step 5

Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Roll each dough ball into a circle of about 4 inches in diameter.

Step 6

Place a tablespoon of the pork filling in the center of each dough circle.

Step 7

Gently gather the edges of the dough around the filling and twist to seal. Ensure the buns are securely sealed.

Step 8

Prepare a steamer by lining it with parchment paper or cabbage leaves. Place the buns in the steamer, leaving room around each bun.

Step 9

Steam the buns over boiling water for 20 minutes, ensuring the steamer is properly covered so that the steam cooks the buns evenly.

Step 10

Once cooked, carefully remove the buns from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
