Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground chicken
  • 12 pieces Large cabbage leaves
  • 3 tablespoons Green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce (or coconut aminos for strict keto)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Chicken broth

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Blanch the cabbage leaves for 1-2 minutes until just softened. Remove and set aside to drain on a kitchen towel.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.

Step 3

To assemble the wontons, take a blanched cabbage leaf and place a tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center. Fold the sides over the filling and roll tightly to enclose the filling, securing it with a toothpick if necessary.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the wontons and sear on each side for about 2 minutes until golden brown.

Step 5

Pour the chicken broth into the skillet and cover with a lid. Allow the wontons to steam for 5-6 minutes, ensuring the chicken is cooked through.

Step 6

Remove the toothpicks, if used, and serve the wontons warm, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
