Ingredients

  • 500 grams green cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 3 units garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, freshly grated
  • 1 unit green chili, finely chopped
  • 8 leaves curry leaves
  • 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Start by washing the green cabbage thoroughly. Remove any wilted outer leaves and then slice it thinly into shreds.

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds.

When the seeds start to splutter, quickly add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili to the pan. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the curry leaves to the pan and continue to sauté for another 30 seconds.
