Ingredients

  • 500 grams Bottle gourd
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut oil
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 2 pieces Green chili
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 cup Coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Peel the bottle gourd and cut it into small cubes.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion, garlic, ginger, and green chili.

Step 3

Heat coconut oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 4

Add cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle for a few seconds.

Step 5

Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.

Step 6

Stir in the garlic, ginger, and green chili, and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Add the bottle gourd cubes to the pan, and sauté for about 3-4 minutes.

Sprinkle coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder over the gourd.

Mix everything well and then pour in the coconut milk and water.
