Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin
  • 0.25 cup coconut aminos
  • 0.25 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 onions medium yellow onions, sliced into rings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon stevia or erythritol
  • 0.25 cup water

Directions

Step 1

Slice the beef sirloin into thin, bite-sized pieces and place them in a bowl.

Step 2

In a separate small bowl, mix coconut aminos, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, black pepper, and stevia or erythritol. Pour this mixture over the beef slices, ensuring they are well-coated. Let the beef marinate for at least 15 minutes, or ideally for 1-2 hours in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the sliced onions until they are soft and translucent, about 7-10 minutes. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the marinated beef slices along with the marinade. Sear the beef for 4-5 minutes on each side until it is browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and return the onions to the skillet with the beef. Add the water to the skillet and let it simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.

Step 6

Season with sea salt to taste, adjust as necessary, and remove from heat.

Step 7

Serve the keto Bistek Tagalog hot, garnished with additional fresh lemon slices if desired.
