Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 8 bacon slices
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 slices Monterey Jack cheese, sliced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 8 large lettuce leaves
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix until well combined.

Step 2

Form the mixture into four equally sized patties, slightly larger than the slices of cheese, to allow for shrinkage during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the bacon until crispy, approximately 5-6 minutes. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving bacon grease in the pan.

In the same skillet, add butter to the bacon grease and melt over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and sauté until golden brown and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Remove mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
