Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Coconut aminos
  • 0.25 cup Rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Grated fresh ginger
  • 3 tablespoons Swerve brown sugar substitute
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Sambal oelek (chili paste)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Xanthan gum
  • 0.25 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine coconut aminos, rice vinegar, and sesame oil over medium heat.

Step 2

Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the saucepan, stirring continuously until aromatic, about 1 minute.

Step 3

Stir in the Swerve brown sugar substitute and tomato paste until well incorporated.

Step 4

Add sambal oelek and ground black pepper. Stir to combine.

Step 5

In a separate small bowl, whisk the xanthan gum with water until completely dissolved to create a slurry.

Step 6

Gradually whisk the slurry into the saucepan. This will thicken the sauce.

Step 7

Simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens to your desired consistency.

Step 8

Remove from heat and let cool. Once cooled, transfer the sauce to a jar or container with a tight-fitting lid.

Step 9

Store in the refrigerator and shake well before each use. The sauce will keep for up to 2 weeks.
