Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Frozen turkey burger patties
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 2 cups Baby spinach
  • 1 cup Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 4 slices Whole grain bread slices
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Step 2

Place the frozen turkey burger patties in the skillet and season with salt and ground black pepper.

Step 3

Cook the patties for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 4

While the patties cook, lightly toast the whole grain bread slices in a toaster or under a broiler for about 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard together to create the sauce.

Step 6

Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the skillet and set them aside. Add the baby spinach and cherry tomatoes to the skillet with a pinch of salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts slightly and the tomatoes are softened.

Step 7

To assemble the open-face turkey burgers, spread 1 tablespoon of the mayo-mustard sauce on each piece of toasted bread.

Step 8

Place a cooked turkey burger patty on top of each bread slice.

Step 9

Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty, allowing it to melt slightly from the residual heat.

Step 10

Top the burgers with the sautéed spinach and tomato mixture.

Step 11

Serve immediately and enjoy!
