Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1.25 cups Warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Sliced pepperoni
  • 0.5 cup Sliced bell peppers
  • 0.5 cup Sliced mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar.

Step 2

Add the olive oil and warm water to the dry ingredients. Mix with a wooden spoon or your hands until a shaggy dough forms.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5-6 minutes.

Step 4

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover tightly with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Step 5

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

Step 6

Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal portions for two medium pizzas or keep it whole for one large pizza.

Step 7

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.

Step 8

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

Step 9

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the sauce.

Step 10

Add your favorite toppings, such as sliced pepperoni, bell peppers, and mushrooms.

Step 11

Sprinkle oregano and crushed red pepper flakes (if desired) over the toppings.

Step 12

Carefully transfer the parchment paper with the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.

Step 13

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Step 14

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
