Ingredients

  • 1 head Napa cabbage
  • 4 stalks Green onions (scallions)
  • 0.5 cups Slivered almonds
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds
  • 1 packet Instant ramen noodles (uncooked, discard seasoning packet)
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cups Sugar
  • 0.25 cups Rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 0.5 cups Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Thinly slice the Napa cabbage into shreds and place it in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Chop the green onions into thin rounds and add them to the cabbage.

Step 3

In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the slivered almonds and sesame seeds until golden and fragrant, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Set aside to cool.

Step 4

Crumble the uncooked ramen noodles into small pieces.

Step 5

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the crumbled ramen noodles. Sauté until the noodles are golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Step 6

In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and vegetable oil until the sugar is fully dissolved, creating the dressing.

Step 7

Before serving, combine the toasted almonds, sesame seeds, and sautéed ramen noodles with the cabbage mixture.

Step 8

Pour the dressing over the salad and toss thoroughly to coat everything evenly.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy the crisp, flavorful salad!
