Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup Light corn syrup
  • 1 14-ounce can Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 6 cups Kellogg's Corn Flakes cereal
  • 0.5 cup Chocolate chips (optional, for drizzle or topping)

Directions

Step 1

1. Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Set aside.

Step 2

2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 3

3. Add brown sugar, corn syrup, and sweetened condensed milk to the melted butter. Stir constantly until the mixture begins to boil.

Step 4

4. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens and takes on a caramel consistency.

Step 5

5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

Step 6

6. Place the Kellogg's Corn Flakes cereal in a large mixing bowl. Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal, stirring gently to coat it evenly.

Step 7

7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula to press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan.

Step 8

8. Optional: Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each interval, until fully melted. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the cereal mixture for an extra indulgent touch.

Step 9

9. Allow the squares to cool completely at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for faster setting.

Step 10

10. Once set, cut into squares and serve. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
