  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 100 g Chopped nuts (optional)
  • 100 g Raisins or dried fruits (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Day 1: In a glass or plastic bowl, combine 240g all-purpose flour, 240g sugar, and 240ml milk. Stir well and cover loosely with a lid or plastic wrap. Leave at room temperature.

Step 2

Days 2–4: Stir the mixture once each day with a wooden or plastic spoon. Do not refrigerate the starter.

Step 3

Day 5: Feed the starter by adding 240g all-purpose flour, 240g sugar, and 240ml milk. Stir well.

Step 4

Days 6–9: Stir the mixture once a day as before, keeping it loosely covered at room temperature.

Step 5

Day 10 (Baking Day): Divide the starter into four equal parts. Keep one part for yourself, give the other three to friends along with this recipe.

Step 6

Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish or two 8-inch round cake pans.

Step 7

In a large mixing bowl, combine your reserved starter, 2 eggs, 120ml vegetable oil, 300g all-purpose flour, 200g sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, 0.5 tsp salt, 2 tsp ground cinnamon, and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Step 8

If desired, fold in 100g chopped nuts and 100g raisins or dried fruits.

Step 9

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish or pans. Smooth the surface evenly.

Step 10

Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve and enjoy!
