Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground lamb or beef
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Tomato, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoons Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoons Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoons Ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoons Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoons Garam masala
  • 100 grams Green peas (optional)
  • 2 Green chilies, slit lengthwise
  • 3 tablespoons Cilantro (coriander leaves), chopped
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cups Water

Directions

Step 1

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Once the oil is hot, add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes).

Step 3

Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.

Step 4

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until softened and oil begins to separate from the mixture, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in the turmeric, red chili powder, ground coriander, and ground cumin. Mix well.

Step 6

Add the ground meat (lamb or beef) to the pan, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until the meat is no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 7

Add the green chilies, salt, and water. Mix well and let it simmer on low heat for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to develop.

Step 8

If using green peas, stir them in and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Step 9

Sprinkle garam masala over the dish and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 10

Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice, roti, or naan.
