Ingredients

  • 250 grams Mascarpone cheese
  • 200 milliliters Heavy cream
  • 3 large Egg yolks
  • 100 grams Granulated sugar
  • 60 milliliters Grand Marnier
  • 1 tablespoon Orange zest
  • 12 pieces Ladyfinger cookies
  • 100 milliliters Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 20 grams Dark chocolate shavings

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks and granulated sugar together until the mixture becomes pale and creamy.

Step 2

Add the mascarpone cheese to the egg mixture and gently fold until smooth and well combined.

Step 3

In a separate chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. Gradually fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture, being careful not to deflate the air.

Step 4

Gently mix 45 milliliters of the Grand Marnier and the orange zest into the mascarpone cream until evenly distributed.

Step 5

In a shallow dish, combine the freshly squeezed orange juice with the remaining 15 milliliters of Grand Marnier. Lightly dip each ladyfinger into this mixture, ensuring not to oversoak them.

Step 6

Layer the bottom of a serving dish or individual dessert glasses with half of the soaked ladyfingers.

Step 7

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.

Step 8

Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.

Step 9

Cover the dessert with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

Step 10

Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings for a touch of indulgence.
