Ingredients

  • 170 grams Unsalted butter
  • 200 grams Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 200 grams Granulated sugar
  • 100 grams Brown sugar
  • 3 pieces Large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 130 grams All-purpose flour
  • 30 grams Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 100 grams Chocolate chunks or chips (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a 9x9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter on low heat. Once melted, add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir until completely smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 4

Pour the slightly cooled chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture. Stir until fully combined.

Step 5

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.

Step 6

If desired, gently fold in the optional chocolate chunks or chips for an extra dose of chocolate goodness.

Step 7

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 28-32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the edge comes out with a few moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking for fudgier brownies.

Step 9

Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cool, lift the brownies out using the parchment paper overhang and cut into 12 squares.

Step 10

Serve and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
