Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 0.33 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.75 cup Dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons Butter (softened, for filling)
  • 1.5 cups Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Milk (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Warm the milk in a small saucepan or microwave until it reaches about 110°F. Stir in 1/3 cup of granulated sugar and the yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until the mixture is foamy.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the warm milk mixture, 6 tablespoons of melted butter, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix until smooth.

Step 3

Gradually add 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing between each addition. Knead the dough by hand or with the dough hook of a stand mixer for 8-10 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.

Step 5

Meanwhile, prepare the filling by mixing 3/4 cup of dark brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract in a bowl.

Step 6

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangular shape, about 12"x18". Spread 4 tablespoons of softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the vanilla-sugar mixture over the top, leaving a 1/2" border around the edges.

Step 7

Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces using a serrated knife or dental floss.

Step 8

Arrange the slices in a greased 9"x13" baking dish, leaving a bit of space between each roll for expansion. Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

Step 9

Preheat your oven to 350°F while the rolls complete their second rise. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

Step 10

While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together 1.5 cups of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust consistency with more milk or powdered sugar as needed.

Step 11

Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool for 10 minutes before drizzling the glaze generously over the top.

Step 12

Serve warm and enjoy your decadent Sin Amon Rolls!
