  • 1 whole egg wash (egg + 1 tablespoon water)

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and rub it into the flour using your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add the egg to the mixture and mix gently. Gradually add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough holds together but is not sticky.
