Ingredients

  • 170 grams Unsalted butter, softened
  • 150 grams Brown sugar

  • 1 large Egg
  • 360 grams All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 200 grams Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Kahlua (for icing)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Step 2

Add the molasses, 2 tablespoons of Kahlua, and the egg to the butter mixture. Mix until well combined.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until the dough comes together.
