Ingredients

  • 200 grams Dark chocolate (at least 60% cocoa)
  • 100 milliliters Heavy cream
  • 30 grams Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Kahlua liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon Instant coffee granules
  • 3 tablespoons Unsweetened cocoa powder (for coating)

Directions

Step 1

Finely chop the dark chocolate and place it in a heatproof bowl.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream and instant coffee granules. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it begins to steam, but do not let it boil.

Step 3

Pour the hot cream mixture over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit undisturbed for 2 minutes to allow the chocolate to soften.

Step 4

Using a spatula, gently stir the mixture in small circles, starting from the center, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.

Step 5

Add the unsalted butter and stir until it is completely incorporated, followed by the Kahlua liqueur. Mix until smooth and glossy.

Step 6

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or until the mixture is firm enough to scoop.

Step 7

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Use a teaspoon or small cookie scoop to portion out the chocolate mixture, and roll each portion into a ball with your hands. Place the truffles on the baking sheet.

Step 8

Sift the unsweetened cocoa powder into a shallow bowl. Roll each truffle in the cocoa powder until fully coated.

Step 9

Return the coated truffles to the baking sheet and refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes to set.

Step 10

Serve chilled or bring to room temperature before enjoying. Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
