Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 units Large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Pure vanilla extract
  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2.5 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, use a handheld or stand mixer to beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract until combined.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 5

Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon to evenly distribute them throughout the dough.

Step 6

Scoop about ¼ cup of dough per cookie and roll into a ball. Place each dough ball at least 3 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets to allow for spreading.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers still look slightly underbaked. The cookies will continue to set as they cool.

Step 8

Remove the baking sheets from the oven and let the cookies cool on the sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 9

Serve warm, or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
