Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 4 pieces Large eggs
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1.5 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it well.

Step 2

In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the granulated sugar and vanilla extract until fully combined.

Step 3

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until the mixture is smooth.

Step 4

Add the flour, cocoa powder, and salt to the wet ingredients, and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 5

Pour the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Smooth the top with a spatula, and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Step 6

Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

Step 7

For the middle layer, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk together in a medium bowl until smooth and fluffy. Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled brownie base.

Step 8

Chill the pan in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to let the middle layer set.

Step 9

While the middle layer chills, make the chocolate ganache. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over low heat until steaming, but not boiling. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips in a bowl and let it sit for 2 minutes.

Step 10

Whisk the cream and chocolate together until smooth and glossy. Let the mixture cool slightly so it thickens just a bit.

Step 11

Pour the ganache over the chilled cream cheese layer, spreading evenly with an offset spatula.

Step 12

Refrigerate the layered brownies for at least 2 hours, or until the ganache is fully set.

Step 13

Once set, slice into squares or rectangles and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
