Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Slices of bread
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 slices Deli ham
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 slice Cheddar cheese
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Cooking oil

Directions

Step 1

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 teaspoon of cooking oil.

Step 2

Crack the egg into the skillet and season with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Cook until the egg white is set but the yolk is still slightly runny, about 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook for another 30 seconds if you prefer a firmer yolk. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

Butter one side of each bread slice with 1 tablespoon of butter per slice.

Step 4

Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, onto the skillet still on medium heat.

Step 5

Layer the bread with 2 slices of ham, the cooked egg, and 1 slice of cheddar cheese.

Step 6

Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up, creating a sandwich.

Step 7

Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes on one side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and crispy.

Step 8

Flip the sandwich carefully and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side, until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted.

Step 9

Remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it cool slightly, and slice in half if desired.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy!
