Ingredients

  • 4 pieces frozen waffles
  • 1 piece cooked chicken breast
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Set aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Step 3

Slice the cooked chicken breast thinly and season with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Warm it in the same skillet for 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Step 4

Toast the frozen waffles in a toaster or toaster oven until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Butter one side of each waffle piece lightly with about 1 teaspoon of butter each.

Step 6

Assemble the wafflewich by layering one piece of toasted waffle (butter-side down), 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, one slice of cheddar cheese, half the sliced chicken, two bacon slices, and a drizzle of 1 tablespoon maple syrup. Top with another waffle (butter-side up). Repeat for the second sandwich.

Step 7

In the same skillet over medium heat, cook each assembled wafflewich for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the cheese melts and the waffles are golden brown.

Step 8

Slice each wafflewich in half and serve immediately. Pair with fresh fruit or an extra drizzle of maple syrup on the side for dipping, if desired!
