Ingredients

  • 1 pound Large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 0.5 cup Dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 12 ounces Linguine or spaghetti (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

If serving with pasta, cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, drain, and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 4

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

Add the white wine and lemon juice to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the liquid simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

Step 6

Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Stir until the butter is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Step 7

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, along with any accumulated juices. Stir to coat the shrimp in the sauce. If serving with pasta, add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with a splash of the reserved pasta water, tossing to combine.

Step 8

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper, if needed.

Step 9

Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and lemon wedges on the side. Pair with crusty bread or a green salad for a complete meal.
