Ingredients

  • 150 grams unsalted butter
  • 200 grams semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 200 grams granulated sugar
  • 100 grams brown sugar
  • 3 pieces large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 95 grams all-purpose flour
  • 30 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.

Step 3

Whisk the granulated sugar and brown sugar into the melted chocolate mixture until well combined.

Step 4

Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking thoroughly after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 5

Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt together in a separate bowl. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with the spatula.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake for fudgier brownies.

Step 8

Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, lift them out using the parchment overhang and cut into 12 squares or desired portions.

Step 9

Serve and enjoy the rich, chocolaty decadence of Joanna S Brownies!
