Ingredients

  • 200 g All-purpose flour
  • 50 g Milo powder
  • 100 g Granulated sugar
  • 150 g Unsalted butter
  • 1 piece Egg yolk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Milk (optional, if dough is too dry)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, Milo powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In another mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together using a hand mixer or stand mixer until light and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and beat until fully combined.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add 1 tablespoon of milk and mix again.

Step 6

Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop, portion out the dough and roll each piece into a ball. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 7

Flatten each ball slightly using the back of a fork to create a crisscross pattern on the biscuits.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the biscuits are slightly puffed.

Step 9

Remove the biscuits from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Store the biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Enjoy with a glass of milk or a cup of tea!
