Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.5 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 pieces Roasted red peppers (jarred or homemade)
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 4 pieces Buns
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces Sliced tomato
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, egg, and panko breadcrumbs. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Step 2

Form the turkey mixture into 4 equal-sized patties. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. When the pan is hot, cook the turkey patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 4

While the patties are cooking, make the roasted red pepper mayo by blending roasted red peppers, mayonnaise, and lemon juice in a food processor until smooth. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 5

Toast the buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers: Spread the roasted red pepper mayo generously on both halves of each bun. Place a cooked turkey patty on the bottom half, then top with a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato. Add the top half of the bun to finish.

Step 7

Serve the turkey burgers immediately with your choice of sides, such as sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
