Ingredients

  • 1 large head broccoli
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper
  • 0.25 cups sliced almonds
  • 0.25 cups parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.33 cups water

Directions

Step 1

Wash the broccoli and cut it into bite-sized florets. Peel and thinly slice the garlic cloves.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced almonds and toast them for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until golden brown. Remove the almonds from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to let the garlic burn.

Step 4

Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and toss to coat them in the garlic and oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
