  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 0.25 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 buns Hamburger buns
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 4 leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 0.5 small Red onion
  • 8 slices Pickles
  • 4 tbsp Ketchup
  • 4 tsp Mustard

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Using your hands or a fork, gently mix the ingredients until everything is just combined. Do not overmix to avoid tough burgers.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 inch thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.

Step 4

Preheat a grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, lightly grease it with a small amount of oil.

Step 5

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

In the final minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
