Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Puff pastry sheets
  • 3 medium Apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 3 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Apricot jam
  • 1 tablespoon Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry sheets and roll them out slightly to smooth any creases.

Step 3

Cut each puff pastry sheet into 4 equal rectangles, ending up with 8 pastry slices. Transfer the rectangles to the prepared baking sheet.

Step 4

Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples into uniform slices. Place the slices in a bowl.

Step 5

Add the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and fresh lemon juice to the apples. Toss gently to coat the slices evenly.

Step 6

Arrange the apple slices in a neat overlapping pattern on each puff pastry rectangle, leaving a 1/4-inch border around the edges.

Step 7

Melt the unsalted butter and brush the edges of the puff pastry with it. Drizzle any remaining butter over the apples.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the apples are tender.

Step 9

In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the apricot jam and water. Microwave for 20-30 seconds, or until warm and smooth. Stir well.

Step 10

Brush the warm apricot glaze over the apple slices as soon as they come out of the oven.

Step 11

Let the pastries cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
