Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cups Granulated sugar
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cups Whole milk
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Jam (any flavor)
  • 1.25 cups Powdered sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoons Water or milk

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Stir to mix the dry ingredients evenly.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, warm the milk over low heat until lukewarm (around 110°F). Remove from the heat and add the softened butter, stirring until it melts.

Step 3

Add the warmed milk-butter mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 4

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.

Step 5

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.

Step 6

Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle approximately 14x10 inches.

Step 7

Spread a thin layer of jam over the surface of the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.

Step 8

Roll the dough up tightly from the long edge, similar to making cinnamon rolls. Pinch the seam to seal it.

Step 9

Slice the roll into 12 equal pieces and arrange them cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 10

Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise again for 30 minutes.

Step 11

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Step 12

While the rolls are cooling slightly, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and water or milk until smooth.

Step 13

Drizzle the glaze over the cooled rolls and let it set for 5-10 minutes before serving.
