Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Tilapia fillets
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 pieces Jalapenos, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Butter

Directions

Step 1

Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, black pepper, cumin, and smoked paprika.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the sliced jalapenos to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened.

Step 5

Push the garlic and jalapenos to one side of the skillet to make room for the tilapia fillets.

Step 6

Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet, then place the tilapia fillets in the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 7

Drizzle lime juice over the tilapia while it's cooking for an extra layer of flavor.

Step 8

Once cooked, remove the fillets from the skillet and plate them.

Step 9

Spoon the jalapeno-garlic mixture over the tilapia fillets.

Step 10

Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and serve immediately.
