  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 0.5 cup white vinegar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Peel, core, and dice the pears into small chunks. Set aside.

Finely chop the onion. Grate the fresh ginger and mince the garlic cloves.

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the white vinegar and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

Remove the cinnamon stick and discard it.

Step 8

Allow the chutney to cool to room temperature, then transfer it to an airtight container. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
