Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to make it easier to lift the fudge out later. Lightly grease the parchment with butter or nonstick spray.
In a medium-sized heavy saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and sweetened condensed milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon or heat-resistant spatula until the mixture begins to boil.
Once boiling, reduce the heat slightly and continue to cook while stirring for 5 minutes. The mixture should be thick and smooth. Be careful not to let it scorch.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately stir in the dark chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, and vanilla extract. Continue stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Add the Jack Daniel's whiskey and stir until fully incorporated. The fudge will have a subtle whiskey aroma at this stage.
Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
If desired, sprinkle sea salt lightly over the top of the fudge for a touch of salty contrast to the sweetness.
Allow the fudge to cool to room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
Once firm, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the baking dish. Slice into 36 small squares using a sharp knife.
Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
