Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Flank steak
  • 0.5 cups Jack Daniel's whiskey
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 0.25 cups Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cloves Minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine Jack Daniel's whiskey, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, black pepper, and salt. Whisk well until the brown sugar dissolves and the marinade is homogenous.

Step 2

Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring that it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap. Refrigerate and marinate for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight, for maximum flavor.

Step 3

Remove the steak from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to allow it to come to room temperature. This will help it cook more evenly.

Step 4

Preheat your grill or broiler to high heat. If grilling, clean and lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.

Step 6

Grill or broil the steak for 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired level of doneness is achieved. Use a meat thermometer to ensure accuracy: 130-135°F for medium-rare, 140-145°F for medium.

Step 7

Remove the steak from the grill or broiler and transfer it to a cutting board. Tent it loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Step 8

Slice the steak thinly against the grain to maximize tenderness. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
