Ingredients

  • 2 5-ounce cans canned tuna in water
  • 0.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 units large egg
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons green onion (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoons parsley (chopped, optional)
  • 0.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoons paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 units burger buns
  • 4 units lettuce leaves (optional)
  • 4 slices sliced tomatoes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Drain the canned tuna thoroughly and place it in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add panko breadcrumbs, the egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, chopped green onion, parsley (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the tuna.

Step 3

Mix the ingredients together with a fork until well combined. The mixture should feel moist but hold together when shaped.

Step 4

Divide the tuna mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 1/2 inch thick.

Step 5

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 6

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until the patties are golden brown and heated through.

Step 7

Remove the tuna patties from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 8

To assemble the burgers, place each patty on a burger bun. Add lettuce leaves and tomato slices if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
