  • 4 cups Vegetable or chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0.25 cup Heavy cream (optional)
  • 6 for garnish Fresh basil leaves
  • 0.25 cup, grated (optional) Parmesan cheese
  • 4 slices (optional, for serving) Crusty bread

Directions

Step 1

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the diced onion and sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until softened and translucent.

Step 3

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the chopped fresh tomatoes, vegetable or chicken stock, and tomato paste. Stir well to combine.
