  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and diced
  • 1.5 cups raisins
  • 1.75 cups buttermilk
  • 1 large egg

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Using your fingers or a pastry cutter, work the cold, diced butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
