Ingredients

  • 500 grams button mushrooms
  • 1 large, finely chopped onion
  • 3 medium, finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon, grated ginger
  • 2 cloves, minced garlic
  • 1 finely chopped (optional) green chili
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 0.5 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon or to taste salt
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped fresh cilantro
  • 100 milliliters water

Directions

Step 1

Clean and slice the mushrooms into even pieces and set aside.

Step 2

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat.

Stir in the grated ginger, minced garlic, and optional green chili. Cook for 1-2 minutes until aromatic.

Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or Indian flatbread like naan or roti.
