Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely diced
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 stalks Green onions, sliced (white and green parts separated)
  • 2 teaspoons Creole seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 servings Cooked white rice or pasta, for serving

Directions

Step 1

Heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 4

Stir in the minced garlic and the white parts of the green onions. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 5

Sprinkle in the Creole seasoning, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using), stirring to coat the vegetables in the spices.

Step 6

Add the Worcestershire sauce and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Step 7

Stir in the heavy cream and let the sauce simmer for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 8

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the sauce. Allow the shrimp to warm through for 1-2 minutes.

Step 9

Stir in the sliced green parts of the green onions and fresh parsley.

Step 10

Serve the Shrimp Diane over cooked white rice or pasta. Garnish with additional parsley, if desired.
