Ingredients

  • 8 cups water
  • 4 pieces black tea bags
  • 1.5 cups fresh raspberries
  • 0.5 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil.

Step 2

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the black tea bags. Let them steep for 5 minutes, then remove and discard the tea bags.

Step 3

Add the sugar to the warm tea and stir until dissolved completely.

Step 4

In a separate saucepan, combine 1 cup of fresh raspberries and 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, gently mashing the raspberries with a fork or spoon to release their juices. Simmer for 5 minutes, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds. Set the raspberry syrup aside to cool.

Step 5

Pour the steeped tea into a large pitcher. Add the raspberry syrup and stir well.

Step 6

Stir in the lemon juice and the remaining 2 cups of cold water to dilute the tea. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity if desired by adding extra sugar or lemon juice.

Step 7

Fill serving glasses with ice cubes, then pour the iced raspberry tea over the ice.

Step 8

Garnish with fresh mint sprigs and additional raspberries, if desired, before serving.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing flavor!
