Ingredients

  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 0.25 cup Warm water (about 110°F/45°C)
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup Whole milk
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 units Large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Additional butter for brushing (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in the warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, warm the milk over low heat until it is just warm (do not boil). Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, melted butter, cooled milk, beaten eggs, and salt. Stir until well mixed.

Step 4

Add the yeast mixture to the bowl and stir to combine.

Step 5

Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. The dough should be soft but not sticky.

Step 6

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Step 7

Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning it once to coat it in oil. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Step 8

The next day, remove the dough from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Step 9

Divide the dough in half. Roll each half into a circle about 12 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick.

Step 10

Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut each circle into 12 wedges (like slicing a pizza).

Step 11

Roll up each wedge, starting at the wide end and rolling toward the tip, to form a crescent shape.

Step 12

Place the rolls on greased or parchment-lined baking sheets, tip-side down to prevent unrolling.

Step 13

Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let rise for about 30-45 minutes in a warm place until doubled in size.

Step 14

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 15

Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Step 16

Optional: Brush the warm rolls with melted butter just after removing them from the oven for extra flavor and shine.

Step 17

Serve warm and enjoy!
