Ingredients

  • 1 lb Smoked Polish sausage (kielbasa)
  • 16 oz Sauerkraut
  • 2 cups Green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 medium Carrots, sliced
  • 2 medium Potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 4 cups Beef broth
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 tsp Dried marjoram
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 0 to taste Salt

Directions

Step 1

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Step 2

Slice the Polish sausage into bite-sized pieces and add to the pot. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, then remove and set aside.

In the same pot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-5 minutes.

Add the shredded cabbage, carrots, and diced potatoes to the pot. Stir to combine and cook for 5 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
