Ingredients

  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops
  • 1 can (15 oz) Hunt's tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.25 cup water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 3

Add olive oil to the hot skillet, then sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown. Remove the pork chops and set them aside.

Step 4

In a medium bowl, whisk together Hunt's tomato sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, garlic powder, water, and a pinch of black pepper until smooth.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to medium, and pour the barbecue sauce mixture into the skillet. Stir gently to loosen any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Step 6

Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the tops of the chops.

Step 7

Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer for 20-25 minutes, flipping the pork chops halfway through, until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 8

Serve the pork chops hot, generously topped with the tangy barbecue sauce from the skillet. Pair with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or grilled vegetables.
