Ingredients

  • 2 lb Pork tenderloin
  • 1 cup Pineapple juice
  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp Green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Toasted sesame seeds
  • 4 slices Pineapple slices (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil to create the marinade.

Step 2

Place the pork tenderloins in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the pork, making sure it is fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

Step 3

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F). If using a charcoal grill, prepare a two-zone fire for indirect grilling.

Step 4

Remove the pork from the marinade and set the marinade aside to use as a glaze. Pat the pork dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.

Step 5

Pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly into a glaze.

Step 6

Place the pork on the preheated grill. Sear on each side for 2-3 minutes to develop grill marks, then move to indirect heat and continue grilling, covered, for 18-20 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with the glaze. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145°F.

Step 7

Once cooked, remove the pork from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Step 8

Garnish with chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds, and optional grilled pineapple slices. Serve hot and enjoy the tropical flavors!
