Ingredients

  • 500 g Ground lamb
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Ground coriander
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 50 g Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg, beaten
  • 2 sheets Puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 batch Egg wash (1 egg whisked with 1 tbsp water)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 3

Add the beaten egg to the lamb mixture and mix to bind the ingredients together.

Step 4

Cut each puff pastry sheet in half lengthwise, creating four rectangular strips in total.

Step 5

Spoon an even portion of the lamb mixture along the length of each pastry strip, forming a long sausage shape at the edge.

Step 6

Roll the pastry over the filling, sealing the seam with a little water. Place the rolls seam-side down.

Step 7

Cut each roll into four equal pieces and place them on the prepared baking tray.

Step 8

Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if using.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and cooked through.

Step 10

Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
