Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.333 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 0.333 cup Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 0.75 cup Brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tablespoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter (softened, for filling)
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, salt, and active dry yeast.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, heat the milk until it is warm (about 110°F/43°C). Add the melted butter to the milk and stir to combine.

Step 3

Gradually pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients, then add the eggs. Stir until a sticky dough forms.

Step 4

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, adding the remaining 1/2 cup of flour as needed to prevent sticking, until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Step 5

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon together to make the filling.

Step 7

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle (approximately 16x12 inches) on a floured surface.

Step 8

Spread the softened butter evenly over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Step 9

Starting with the long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log and pinch the seam to seal it.

Step 10

Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 12 even slices and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, cut side up.

Step 11

Cover the baking dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for 30 minutes, or until puffy.

Step 12

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Step 13

While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.

Step 14

Once the cinnamon rolls are out of the oven, let them cool for 5 minutes before drizzling the glaze over the top.

Step 15

Serve warm and enjoy!
